S Music

The film is directed by Balaji Shaktivel, a 2 year gap after 'Kaadhal' caught the viewers' imagination. 'Kalloori' is produced by Shankar's S Pictures.

The function served a dual purpose. One was the release of the film's audio. The other was the launch of S Music. Not content with being in directing and producing, Shankar has now entered the audio field too.

Wanting to make this a unique function, Shankar hit upon inviting AR Rehman and Mani Ratnam. Parthiban phrased this well in her speech. Accordingly the S Music Company was inaugurated by Mani Ratnam and AR Rehman released the songs.

The directors lavished praise on Shankar in their speeches. In an emotional speech, Bharatiraja expressed his desire to work as an assistant to Shankar at least in one film. That rather moved Shankar.

Mani Ratnam, who usually says next to nothing, actually broke his pattern of silence and spoke openly. "So many directors are gathered here. I have not seen such unity among directors anywhere else in the world," he said proudly.

The highlight of the festival was the request by Balu Mahendra to AR Rehman. Just like Rehamn had composed music to the national anthem, he should compose music also to the glory of Thamizhthaai. The hall resounded with the applause.

Shankar gave the vote of thanks and Balaji Sakthivel's speech ended the 'Kalloori' function on a colorful note.

ROBOT!! Crew list caused the drift

Director shankar's dream project robo was announced to be shelved few days back for unknow reasons. Now the sources have claimed that shankar's crew list for the movie made sharukh to quit. The problem started with the selection of cinematographer, shankar wanted kv Anand and sharukh asked Manikandan .Manikandan has already worked with sharukh and even his next release "Om Shanthi Om" has mani as cinematographer .Its known that
shankar and manikandan already had problems during anniyan.Shankar started anniyan with
mani but was soon replaced with RaviVarman.
Anyway what ever it may be but the fact is that shankar fans will be happy if robo makes it to the big screen
