Endhiran wins National awards

The 58th National Awards have been announced today and super star Rajinikanth’s Endhiran and his son-in-law Dhanush’s Aadukalam has grabbed many awards. Aadukalam has picked up six awards while Endhiran scoops up three. Aadukalam director Vetrimaaran gets the award for best direction and best screenplay while Dhanush was adjudged the best actor for his inspired performance. The film also collects best choreography by Dinesh. Endhiran received awards for special effects, art direction, and production. Saranya Ponvannan received an award for her turn in Thenmerku Paruvakattru and Vairamuthu, got an award for his lyrics in the same movie.

Thambi Ramiah won in the best supporting actor category for his superb role in Mynaa.

Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg got the National Award for wholesome entertainment. Dhanush and Malayalam actor Salim Kumar for their work in Aadukalam and Adaminde Makan Abu, respectively. Marathi actress Mitalee Jagtap Paradhar won the National Award for best actress for her performance in the movie Baboo Band Baaja.

Best cinematographer award has been awarded to Madhu Ambat, while best audiography went to Ishqiya.

Moner Manush by filmmaker Goutam Ghosh won the Best Film on National Integration, while Malayalam movie Adaminte Makan Avu won the Best Feature Film award. Champions, a Marathi motion picture bagged the National Award for Best Film on Social Issues.

Eeram for telugu audience

Eeram’, directed by Arivazhagan and produced by Shankar, is being dubbed in Telugu and will be released as ‘Vaishali’. The film is a suave thriller that deals with spirits and life after death.
‘Eeram’ is all about the heroine avenging her death and the fast screenplay appealed to the multiplex audience. To cash in on its success further, the film is being dubbed in Telugu as the filmmaker feels that it will receive immense response from the Telugu audience as well. Popular producer Dil Raju has procured the dubbing rights of this film and will release it in Telugu under the title ‘Vaishali’.
The film stars Aadhi, Nandha, Sindu Menon and Saranya Mohan in important roles.

Next stop London for music

Director Shankar has completed Nanban's first schedule in Ooty recently. Shankar and Harris Jayaraj are currently in London to compose the songs. Harris has already finished the tamil version of "all is well".

Vijay, Srikanth and Jiiva will play the lead roles in Tamil. S.J. Suryah will play the role of Chatur (Omi Vaidya). Ileana D'Cruz will appear in the role played by Kareena Kapoor, Sathyaraj will appear as professor Virus, which was played by Boman Irani and Raghava lawrence has been reportedly roped in.

Actor Jiiva talks about his experience working with director shankar

Though he's worked with actors of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth's calibre and almost got to direct Shah Rukh Khan, Shankar is down to earth and treats everyone equally. I was extremely comfortable working with him. He has no strict rules on the sets. My rapport with him is as good as the one I share with Kannan and Rajesh. He explains the scene thoroughly and doesn't hesitate to compliment if we do a good job. He wants to make Nanban better than the original. And we are all for it," he signs off. 
Jiiva is working to reduce his weight! "I have to look young like a college lad for Nanban. While the first schedule required me to look a little old, the other schedules will have me playing a college student. So, I'm on a weight-losing spree right now. I make it a point to walk from the sets of VV to my hotel, which is about 5 km away. I will start a full workout schedule soon," he tells us

3 idiots almost shelved

First it was mahesh babu who said he is not willing to share the screen with small hero's like srikanth and asked the production to replace him with siddarth when siddarth was approached for the telugu version he openly stated mahesh babu himself is having a bad time and has given continuous flops in recent times and cannot play a smaller role than him in the film. It is also said that mahesh intentionally wanted to cast siddarth in a smaller role to show his supremo in tollywood. Mahesh babu was the first one to walk out.



Thats the story of telugu film now in tamil the problem started when sun pictures bought the distribution rights of three idiots from gemini film circuit (the producers of the tamil/telugu remake of 3 idiots) there was a rivalry between sun pictures and vijay due to the difference in promotion and payment for sura 50th film of vijay. That is when vijay decided to opt out from the project. it is said that sun pictures tried to buy the  distribution rights of vijays kavalan as well  while the producers tried to convince vijay our super star director shankar reportedly stated that he wouldn't do a remake film if its not for vijay. The project was about to drop at this level thats when Actor Surya came into the scene according to a most reliable source he voluntarily came forth to do the film. It  is said that surya called director shankar to express his willingness to do the

 

project. Chetan baghat writer of the book (5 point someone) on which 3 idiots was based recently tweeted that surya told him that he is doing 3 idiots tamil version when they met in a gym in mumbai. He might also be casted in telugu as well.
Current speculations are that surya has signed another movie with director Hari which was about to start after completing director Murugadoss's magnum opus 7aam Arivu
Hence as of now the project is almost shelved

Vijay out of 3 idiots

No other film in recent times has garnered so much attention even before its making as this one. With a lot of speculation over the making and the star cast of the film, the Tamil remake of Aamir Khan's 3 idiots is already the talk of the town. But just when we were thinking that all is well, here comes a shocker — Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay himself might be out of the mega project! 

The latest buzz is that Vijay and the director of the film, Shankar, had a difference of opinion over the film and have agreed to part as friends. Reports say that Vijay did not approve of his clothes and his look in the film, in which he plays a college student. Moreover, the actor is currently shooting for Velayudham in which he sports a particular look. As he is yet to finish the shoot on this project, which stars Genelia and Hansika in the lead, reports state that he didn't want to change his look as he believed there would be a lack of continuity. 

However, a source close to the developments told that the actor may not do the film because he'll soon float a political party. "An announcement regarding this is expected soon," informed the source. 

When asked the actor about this during the trailer launch of Kaavalan held yesterday, Vijay remained tight-lipped and said, "Let the information come from the producer's side." The shooting for 3 idiots was expected to begin on December 6 in Dehradun. 

3 Idiots from December 5th

Master film maker Shankar's proposed Tamil and Telugu remakes of Aamir Khan's smash hit 3 Idiots will start rolling from December 5 in Delhi. However, the exact location of the shooting is kept under wraps.

Vijay and Mahesh Babu will play Aamir's role in the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. Srikant and Jiiva will play the roles played by Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the original, while Sathyaraj will play the role of the principal. Ileana will enact Kareena’s role in both versions. Some changes are being made in the script to suit the tastes of the South Indian audiences. Harris Jayaraj will compose the music and Manoj Paramahamsa will crank the camera.

The latest buzz is that the film is titled Moovar in Tamil. There are also reports that the film may have a second heroine!

3 idiots the remake

Sources have finally confirmed the news of 3 idiots remake. Yes guys its official now director shankar is going to remake India's biggest block buster in telugu with mahesh babu and ileana in the lead. Music will be composed by Harris jayaraj since AR.Rahman has taken a halt from composing music for Indian films to concentrate on international projects,they have also confirmed that the movie will not be named as 3 Rascals or 3 idiots,other technicians and the tamil version of the remake is yet to be confirmed while the music composition for the telugu movie has already begun. Director Shankar is gearing up for the project by rewriting the script to suit the taste of the Telugu audiences. If everything goes well, the film would be formally launched on December 6 as per the tentative schedule.Gemini Film Circuits will be producing the Telugu version and it had bought the remake rights from Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Hi Everybody,

‘Endhiran the robot’ film is in theatres now. I couldn’t be in touch with you guys for a long time since I was doing post production, release, theatre rounds and promotional activities till yesterday.

Thanks to everyone all over the world who enjoyed, supported and appreciated the film. Thanks to the press and all medias. I am very happy that the film is appreciated by the critics as well and was given 5 stars in many reviews and 4 – 5 in others. I am delighted with the box-office records south, north and all over the world.

Many stalwarts of the Indian film industry have congratulated me in person & over phone after watching the movie. It’s a wonderful feeling, Aamir Khan after watching the film invited me to his house, appreciated and discussed about the film till early morning with his wife Kiran and Director Rajkumar Hirani.

Hrithik Roshan called & shared his excitement after watching the film. Kamalhassan congratulated by sending flowers to me with a beautiful message.

Kannada director & actor Upendra, Actor Prakasraj and lot of directors, actors and technicians called and conveyed their heartfull appreciation.

Endhiran Box Office report

Endhiran made an earth-shattering opening on day one all across the globe. It drew full houses from its very first show from Gurgaon multiplexes in Harayana to Nagerkovil, the south tip of Tamil Nadu. In overseas markets, the film created a new history on the opening day.

It has taken the best ever paid previews in UK and US on Thursday night by surpassing the collections of any Hindi film in 2010. In Mumbai, the movie has fared well and the Telugu version has also been declared a hit.

In Tamil Nadu, Endhiran has got the best ever single day opening for any film in Kollywood history, while in Kerala from 128 screens the film has opened bigger than a Mohanlal or Mammootty film.

The National media has gone crazy about Rajinikanth. News channels like NDTV, Times Now, CNN IBN and Headlines Today conducted half an hour “Robot-Special” with their entertainment editors flying in from Delhi and Mumbai to capture the Rajinikanth phenomenon in Chennai on release day.

Here is a quick interesting calculation about the collection by a Canada based fm radio

2250 prints are made for theatres all over the world, according to Sun pictures. Some theatres use same print in two halls in a difference of 30 minutes.

There will be 4 shows per day for at least first 3 days (Fri, Sat, Sun). We know that many theatres in Tamilnadu will have 5 or 6 shows per day from early morning.

Average number of seats can be 500. Most of the Indian cinema halls are with over 800 seats while very few halls are with 400 seats.

Ticket price for first week in India varies from Rs. 100 to Rs. 500. Overseas ticket price are fixed but money conversion will bring it to Rs. 400 to Rs. 600.

If we pick all conservative numbers and multiply……..
2250 prints x 4 shows x 500 seats x Rs. 150 = 67,50,00,000 = Rs. 67.5 crore per day.

Rs. 67.5 crore x 3 days = Rs. 202.5 Crore.

By looking at this conservative calculation, Sun will recover the cost in just in 3 days. There is no way Sun pictures would have to worry about the money that has been invested. There can be loss and gain with distributors and Theatre owners depending on the deals. Overall, all the numbers show that Endhiran can make a record breaking collection in the history of Indian cinema. It is only less than two weeks to confirm it.
